Community Involvement

Creating a real community involves more than building concrete structures. Rempel Bros. Concrete believes in contributing to communities at all levels and we are very proud to have helped many important and deserving organizations. Rempel Bros. and their employees have contributed funds, time, products and to the support of many humanitarian, sports and community organizations.

There are a number of employees at Rempel Bros. Concrete and Challenge Concrete Pumping, who contribute to charities of their choice every year. We ask our employees to contribute to those charities through the United Way, and then the company matches the donation dollar for dollar. Giving to charity is a very personal choice and at Rempel, we are fortunate that so many of our people decide to contribute.

Our 2005 United Way campaign ran during the month of October, with a final donation figure of $21,850, which was then matched by the company for a total donation of $44,700. The participation rate this year was 20of all employees.  It is this generosity and company commitment which has helped to support many people in our communities and has gone a long way in making a difference.

In 1998 and 1999, Rempel was awarded two major achievement awards, The Fraser Valley Credit Union Commitment Award and the Baker Newby Leadership Award for our commitment to and participation in the United Way campaign. In 2001, Rempel was awarded the "Leaders of the Way" award and in 2002, the "Employee Gold Award" for outstanding contributions to our community through support of the United Way.
